Bauers Plastiken
Bauers Humor lebt in seinen Plastiken. Er findet, sieht und kombiniert. Zwei rostige Eisenteile, Blech, etwas Schiefer oder das Porzellan von Isolatoren können dann lustige Figuren erzeugen.
„Manchmal sind das reine Fundstücke, die ich nicht liegen lassen konnte, oder man muss bissel wegschneiden, ein bisschen schweißen.“ Vieles ist ironisch, mit Lust am Formwitz kombiniert.
„Ich bin kein trister, stumpfsinniger Mensch. Ironie, das ist schon richtig. Es muss auch Spaß machen, das Sehen, das Ansehen.“

Bauer’s sculptures
Bauer’s humor lives in his sculptures. He finds, sees and combines. Two rusty iron pieces, sheet metal, some slate or the porcelain from insulators can then create funny figures.
„Sometimes they are pure found objects that I couldn’t leave lying around, or you have to cut something away, do a bit of welding.“ Much of it is ironic, combined with a love of formal humor.
„I’m not a sad, dull person. Irony, that’s true. It has to be fun too, seeing, looking at.“
